As opposed to other types of financial aid, scholarships and grants don't require repayment so they meet funding requirements. Students who are interested can get multiple scholarships and grants to reduce their costs.

In addition to healthcare scholarships and grants, degree-seekers can also pursue employee tuition assistance, work-study programs, and fellowships/assistantships. We divide the following scholarships into general, demographic-specific, and regional or school-specific categories to help students find the funding they need to focus on their new careers without a mountain of debt.

Basic Healthcare Scholarships

Maxine Williams Scholarship

The American Association of Medical Assistants offers this award to students who have completed at minimum one semester in a medical assistant program. The learner must apply to the director of their department's programs.

Requirements for eligibility: All students need to have an at-least 3.0 GPA and enroll in a program accredited by CAAHEP. They must finish at the very least one semester.

Grad Pupil Scholarship

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation offers this scholarship to master's- and doctoral-level students enrolled in speech pathology, communication sciences, or a related degree at an accredited school.

The requirements for eligibility: Every applicant must be enrolled in a graduate program when they submit their application and must have shown academic merit throughout their education. Three letters of recommendation, transcripts from universities and an essay addressing a question about career goals are required.

Jimmy A. Young Memorial Education Recognition Award

The American Respiratory Care Foundation makes this award to students in the undergraduate phase of pursuing the degree of respiratory health. Apart from funding for school, recipients also receive airfare and lodging during the annual American Association for Respiratory Care Congress. Edgar Radjabli Scholarships) announces their annual college scholarships for undergraduates in the United States, who are either currently enrolled in healthcare or who plan to go to college to pursue a degree in medical studies.

Admission requirements Students must be able to show at least a 3.0 GPA and submit a paper on respiratory health. Candidates must also submit letters of recommendation and proof of enrollment and official transcripts by the 15th of June.

DNP/Ph.D. Student Scholarship

The NAPNAP Foundation supports nurse practitioners who are working towards their DNP/Ph.D. certification if they intend to concentrate their studies on pediatrics.

Qualifications: All applicants must maintain current enrollment with a 3.5 or higher GPA within an accredited DNP or Ph.D. program focused on pediatrics. Each applicant must provide a personal statement and CV, along with three letters of recommendation.

Barbara A. Cooley Master’s Scholarship

The Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) gives this award to those enrolled in a master's program in health and fitness at a recognized school. One-year membership to SHAPE America is also available to awardees.

Eligibility Requirements: Each applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or more and submit a CV, a three-part essay on their personal philosophy of education, as well as two letters of recommendation.

Scholarship Article Contest

Sharps, Inc. gives this award each year to students accepted or are currently enrolled in a program which focuses on health care or another related subject.

The requirements for eligibility Students must compose an essay that outlines how they intend to use their degree. All applicants has to submit a completed application, transcripts that are not official and letters of recommendation with a resume.

HIMSS Foundation Undergraduate Foundation

This scholarship is available to undergraduate students who are enrolled in an accredited program in medical information management or systems. In order to be eligible, applicants must be in their third year.

Qualifications for Eligibility: A HIMSS members in good standing is eligible to be considered for the award provided that they complete an online application along with two letters of reference, and an updated resume.
